PFBC’s HLF Digitising Project – Articles
The voluntary Researchers / Archivists of PFBC greatly value the source material provided by Articles. Articles are highly significant in the History of Aviation – especially when these are firsthand accounts. As a Charity, PFBC is fortunate to have many Articles as personal stories, and also published material. PFBC is immensely grateful to the Authors concerned and to their families who made these available.
*Please contact PFBC if you also have Articles which you would like us to archive and to display these.
There is a wide range of Articles: PFBC focuses upon those associated with Flying Boats & Seaplanes: Some of these are written / published as one-off items, various others are compiled as part of a series. Most are specifically associated with, or are relevant to Poole & Dorset; Poole Harbour and The Solent; and also to those places & services worldwide which are related to Poole’s Flying Boats and Seaplanes.
It’s prospected that various Articles collated by PFBC will be made available via our dedicated website. PFBC believes that this is a tangible way by which to celebrate these and to acknowledge the Authors!
The Articles have primarily an historical context i.e. reference to an era that has passed since the mid C-20 of a fascinating period for Aviation, Aviators, Passengers & other Staff re: both Civil Air & the Military… These record people’s experiences, journeys flown & destinations en route; also various aircraft types, associated with the Operators – IAL/BOAC, Aquilla, the RAF Stations & Squadrons and the Fleet Air Arm; also Marinecraft Units, WW2 Defensive Measures, Control, Transport Groups, Catering and Billets, etc.
*Whilst the Articles will be of interest / useful to research they might be protected by marked copyright.
